If you want to help, or be in this film, contact me. info@phillipbarker.com  Slow Blink We agreed to meet at a specific location, I would bring my super 8 camera. We agreed not to say a word. We made a film. We made many films. We are making another: Slow Blink, A Dance for the Face. An epic, widescreen six-minute film for the face. I am so excited to be working again with Susanna Hood. http://www.humdansoundart.ca/people.html Here is the last film we did. http://www.phillipbarker.com/pages/soulCages.html Little Big Films I will be directing Appliance, a short narrative film written by Semi Chellas in the new year. It’s part of a group of film makers making short films about big moments. My first narrative film. People speaking, making sense… yikes. Night Vision Night Vision continues it’s journey playing festivals that include Toronto International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival (France) and Festival Nouveau Cinema (Montreal). It won Best Cinematography Award at Sapporo International Short Film Festival in Japan. Congrats and hugs to cinematographer and new dad Luc Montpellier. In a pure Cezanne inspired moment (he never considered his paintings ‘finished’), I have decided to re-edit this film. There’s just a few frames here and there out of place... Nuit Blanche  For Nuit Blanche in Toronto 2008, I collaborated with Atom Egoyan on a multiple projection installation. We reconstructed a set piece I had designed for his film Adoration and projected film (video) from behind onto the windows. It was pretty nice! Thank you to the students who braved the cold manning the installation…  |
